Course Details
The 2020 Nevis Triathlon / Duathlon will be held on November 7th.The location is Oualie Beach, Nevis.
2020 RACES
Try-a-Tri

Nevis Duathon
The swim for all races will be completed in Oualie Bay.
The Transition will be on the Beach at Oualie Bay
The finish for all races is on the beach at Oualie.
TRY A TRI
The Try-a-Tri swim distance will be 100 meters.
The Try-a-Tri bike course is 5K and will be from Oualie Beach to the Mount Nevis Hotel and back.
The Try-a-Tri run Course is 2K will be from the transition on Oualie Beach to the run turn on the said bike course and back.
NEVIS TRIATHLON
Swim distance is 500 meters.
Bike course is 31K and it circumnavigates the entire island of Nevis.
Run is 5K and it is from the Oualie Beach transition to the Mount Nevis Hotel and back.
NEVIS DUATHLON
The Duathlon has a 2K run from Oualie Beach towards the Airport and back.
The Duathlon’s bike is 31K and it circumnavigates the entire island of Nevis.
The Duathlon’s run course is 5K and it is from the Oualie Beach transition to the Mount Nevis Hotel and back.
The presentation ceremony follows the completion of all races.
There will be a BBQ on the beach at Oualie directly after the presentation ceremony. Athletes are prepaid for the BBQ with registration. All others will purchase BBQ tickets on race day.
Further details on all races and courses will be given at the race briefing on race day.
AWARDS
There will be a medal for each finisher. After the race an awards ceremony will take place where the top three (3) finishers in each category receive a unique trophy made from Nevis stone.

Time limit: 4 hours
All these prices are in US dollars and include:
1. Race package with a t-shirt, and race number.
2. Finish medal.
3. Access to beach BBQ after the race.
Relay races - 2 or 3 athletes compete as a team to finish the triathlon or duathlon. One athlete completes the swim/run, another the bike course, the final person does the run. Or one person can do two legs whilst the other does one.
Triathlon Rules
Here are the most important rules for the Nevis Triathlon:- Drafting off another competitor or motor vehicle is forbidden. The draft zone will be a rectangle 7 meters long by 3 meters wide.
- The bike, helmet and transition bags have to be checked in Friday to allow time for competitors to make modifications, if necessary, to comply with the rules.
- Race Marshals' instructions have to be followed. Protests must be made in written to the Referee.
- Littering is not allowed. Competitors throwing away bike bottles, packaging of bars and gels or the like will be disqualified immediately.
- It is mandatory to swim without your race number. It must be worn on your lower back for the bike and on your front for the run.
- Escorting is forbidden.
- Relays must pass on the timing chip in order to be classified.
- Nevis Triathlon abides by rules set by the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) Code. Age group athletes can also be drug tested.
- Smiles and good mood are mandatory in order to start at Nevis Triathlon.
- The Race Director’s decision is final in all cases.
- Racers must be properly attired for a Triathlon race, in particular:

Enclosed shoes
Jersey or top
